ABOUT THRAPP THEATRICS

Founded by 2017 Emmy® award recipient Jacki Thrapp, Thrapp Theatrics is a scrappy production company disrupting the entertainment industry with affordable commercial productions that generate the same buzz as big budget powerhouses.

Thrapp Theatrics is most known for executive producing Gianmarco Soresi’s 3x Emmy® award nominated documentary and stand-up special titled “Shelf Life” on Amazon Prime. NPR called the film a “historical document” and a “fascinating snapshot of where stand-up comedy” was during the 2020 pandemic.

Our production company does not accept scripts of any kind. Instead, our founder unapologetically produces her own unique work and encourages artists to do the same. You can learn producing tips and tricks on her Making a Musical podcast now streaming on Apple Music and Spotify. Thrapp Theatrics often offers internships for women looking to break into the industry as producers, directors or casting directors.

Jacki’s “Lighthouse: An Immersive Drinking Musical” debuted at the 2022 Edinburgh Fringe Festival with a sold-out run and rave reviews from The Scotsman, Edinburgh Evening News and Morish TV. Negotiations are underway to bring the production Off-Broadway in the summer of 2023. Thrapp Theatrics was nominated for seven BroadwayWorld awards in 2020 including “Best New Play” (The Super Crazy Funtime Show) and “Best New Musical” (Good Morning New York). In 2022, she received nearly a dozen more nominations including the category of “Best Host” and “Best Independent Album.”

Thrapp Theatrics executive produced “Masks & Musicals” at Bar Nine from August 2020 - August 2022. The Broadway karaoke show with a live piano started on the sidewalk during the pandemic and slowly moved inside the bar as restrictions were lifted. It at times the only show in NYC where the Broadway community could gather (socially distanced) and connect about their love for the industry.

Jacki’s parody of “What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve” debuted on the iTunes charts at No. 8 in December 2022 and remained in the top 100 for a week.

Thrapp has also held acting roles in John Wick: Chapter 3, Madam Secretary and Maharshi. Television news writing credits have appeared on the CW, CBS, Fox and ABC.
